Decanting Time: Decant only for 30 minutes to less than 1 hour. Decant only to remove sediments (wines at this age and high quality will tend to have sediments form in the bottle. This is completely normal and a sign of the wine's age and quality. Another way to avoid sediments going in the glass is to rest the bottle vertically for at least 1 hour so that the sediments settle at the bottom and pour gently or pour using a fine strainer.). Serve at 16 - 18°C

Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton in 2020. We guarantee that Txanton stocks are imported and maintained in proper storage within the correct temperature and humidity suitable for wine.

Good To Know: Situated in the Oakville AVA of California's highly renowned Napa Valley, Harlan Estate is considered by most as the USA's answer to the First Growths of Bordeaux. Established in 1984 by property developer William Harlan, the estate released their first ever commercial vintage (1990) in 1996 at a whopping price of well over $1,000. Harlan Estate is also highly regarded due to having several vintages scoring 100 pts from esteemed wine critic, Robert Parker. The winery has since established itself as both a cult wine and a household name in the realm of ultra premium wines.

The Harlan Estate The Napa Valley Reserve 1997 is an incredible release from the highly awarded winery. 80% of the blend consists of the 100 point scoring 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon and rounded out by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine has aged gloriously in our cellars showcasing an opulent nose of dried cassis, crushed figs, licorice, and espresso. On the palate, the wine retains its richness and intensity, laden generously with notes of vanilla, blackcurrant preserve and a subtle undertone of graphite minerality. The finish is lengthy and refined, filled with amazing afternotes of dried plum and dark chocolate.
