Good to Know: In 1804, Alphonse Gros was born in the distinguished Hautes-Côtes village of Chaux. He later relocated to Vosne-Romanée in the year 1830. His progeny was notably advanced for their time portfolio, offering domaine-bottled wines as early as mid-19th century. The line of succession followed through with two generations, Jules and Louis, who both elevated the stature of their wine enterprise.

Louis Gros, the patriarch, was blessed with four children - Jean, François, Gustave, and Colette. Gustave and Colette pooled in their inheritance to form the renowned Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur. François's share was gracefully transferred to his daughter Anne Gros.

Jean Gros retained the residual estate until 1995, marking his official retirement. The expanse was equally divided among his three children - Michel, Bernard, and Anne-Françoise. Anne-Françoise later moved her portion to Pommard, cementing her matrimonial bond with François Parent.
