Product Details
Brand: Luigi Guffanti

A tradition of mixing the milk of three animals: cow, sheep and goat, produces the Luigi Guffanti Robiola Tre Latti. A well-known cheese throughout Piedmont and used to produce a Robiola with a more delicate flavour than that of pure goat cheese. This cheese is ripened for at least twenty days and produced throughout the year.

Aspect and Texture: Soft and white paste with a blooming greyish-yellow rind.

Taste: It has a faint trace of sheep and goat’s milk. A bit of acidity.

Serving Suggestion: Perfect with fruity white wines or lagers. Eat with fruit marmalade, pumpkin jam and ginger preserves. Also goes well with fresh fruits and raisin walnut bread.

Luigi Guffanti started in 1876 where they first prepared Gorgonzola cheese. He bought an abandoned silver mine by intuition and later used its temperature and humidity that is constant all year round to mature the cheeses. At the beginning of 1900’s as he quickly captured the market, his sons Carlo and Mario took care of the exportation to as far as Argentina and California.

In recent times, Carlo and Fiori Guffanti continue to manage the business making sure to make their cheese in the best possible quality.

Serving Suggestion: Suits full bodied, aged red wines. Can be eaten with chestnut honey and rye bread.
